The aircraft fuel tank and general sealant has a service temperature target that ranges from -54 degrees Celsius to 121 degrees Celsius (-65 degrees Fahrenheit to 250 degrees Fahrenheit) - a wide range that would allow flexibility in pretty much any working situation. Designed for fay surface sealing, the sealant provides up to 20 percent weight savings per unit volume than traditional sealants used for the same purpose. Along with a lightweight finish, the sealant is durable and keeps good elastomeric attributes after curing when subjected to jet fuel and aviation gas, and the (cured) sealant can withstand limited contact with diphosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids.
