PR-1782 Class B is a light-weight, general-purpose sealant designed for aviation use as an aircraft fuel tank sealant and fuselage sealant. PR-1782 Class B will provide up to 30% weight savings per unit volume compared to traditional aviation sealants in the application of fusealge sealing and fuel tank sealing. The cured sealant has exceptional elastomeric properties even after prolonged exposure to various aeronautical fuels - including jet fuel and aviation gasoline, and will tolerate limited exposure to diphosphate ester based hydraulic fluids. PR-1782 Class B is a two-part polysulfide sealant cured with manganese dioxide. The materials are a low sag, thixotropic paste before cure and can be applied by an extrusion gun, or spatula, as needed. After curing at room temperature, the sealant will form a resilient sealant with excellent adhesive properties to common aircraft substrates.
