The PPG Aerospace PR‑1776M B‑2 Low Weight Fuel Tank Sealant is a high-performance, two-part, manganese-dioxide-cured Permapol® P-5 polysulfide sealant certified to BMS 5-45H Class B-2, formulated for integral fuel-tank fillet sealing where weight, reliability and chemical resistance are critical. With a service temperature range from -65 °F (-54 °C) to 250 °F (121 °C) and limited excursions to 360 °F (182 °C), it offers up to 20 % weight savings compared to traditional sealants. The low-sag thixotropic paste adheres securely to aluminium, titanium and epoxy-primed steel substrates, cures at ambient temperature to a resilient elastomeric seal, and retains superior adhesion and flexibility after prolonged exposure to jet fuel, aviation gasoline, hydraulic fluids and environmental stressors. Ideal for OEM assembly or MRO fuel-tank repairs, it ensures structural integrity and long-term performance in demanding aerospace environments.
