The PPG Aerospace PR1440 B2 Fuel Tank Sealant Pint Kit is a two-part, manganese-dioxide cured polysulfide sealant designed to meet AMS-S-8802D Type 2, Class B-2 requirements for integral aircraft fuel tanks. Its thixotropic, non-sag paste application enables precise fillet sealing on aircraft substrates including anodized or Alclad aluminum, stainless steel, titanium and composite interfaces, offering high peel and tensile strengths. With an elastomeric cured state, it sustains flexibility and adhesion across a service temperature span from -65 °F (-54 °C) to +250 °F (121 °C) and tolerates short excursions to ~275 °F (135 °C). The material exhibits robust resistance to aviation fuels, jet and av-gas, hydraulic fluids, oils, alcohols, water immersion and corrosive salt environments, making it ideal for OEM production and MRO maintenance of fuel-containing assemblies where leak-free integrity and long-term durability are critical.
