The PPG Aerospace PR‑1440 B2 Fuel Tank Sealant is a two-component, manganese-dioxide-cured polysulfide sealant formulated for high-integrity sealing in aircraft fuel systems under AMS-S-8802D Type 2, Class B2. Engineered for integral fuel tank applications, this grey, thixotropic paste offers excellent adhesion to typical aerospace substrates including aluminum, titanium alloys, and composite structures while delivering exceptional resistance to aviation fuels, lubricants, hydraulic fluids and environmental exposure. With a broad service range from –65 °F (–54 °C) to 250 °F (121 °C) and intermittent excursions to 275 °F (135 °C), it ensures long-term elastomeric performance, flexibility and bond maintenance in harsh conditions. The B2 classification provides a controlled work-life suitable for OEM assembly, complex tank structures, and MRO environments, enabling reliable leak-proof integrity over the aircraft’s operational lifecycle.
