PPG Aerospace® PR-1440 A-2 Gray AMS-S-8802D Type 2 Class A-2 Spec Fuel Tank Sealant - 6 oz 654-SemKit
PR-1440 Class is a sealant for integral fuel tanks in aircraft. It has a service temperature capability of -65 to 250 degrees F with intermittent excursions to 275 degrees F. This compound can be brushed on fastener seals in fuel tanks, as well as in any other fuselage sealant applications. The cured sealant exhibits excellent elastomeric qualities after extended exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas after the sealant cures. In chemistry, PR-1440 Class A is a manganese dioxide cured polysulfide compound consisting of two parts. The uncured compound may be brush applied to any thickness up to 25 mil. It cures at room temperature to form a sealant that is resilient and shows excellent adhesion to most common aircraft substrates.
