PR-1440 Class is a sealant for aircraft integral fuel tanks. It has service temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, and with intermittent excursions up to 275 degrees F. The use of this material is for brush sealing fasteners in fuel tanks, although it can be used for other aircraft fuselage sealing applications. Cured sealant maintains superior elastomeric properties after extended contact with both jet fuel and aviation gas. PR-1440 Class A is a two-part, manganese dioxide cured, polysulfide compound. The uncured material may be applied by brush in thicknesses up to 25 mil. It cures at room temperature to produce a resilient sealant with excellent adhesion to various aircraft substrates.
