Curing Compound PR2050B1-2 is a high-performance two-component epoxy cured Permapol® P-3.1 polythioether smoothing and gap-filling sealant engineered for demanding aerospace environments, sustaining continuous service from –54 °C to +121 °C (–65 °F to +250 °F) and intermittent excursions to +204 °C (+400 °F). It delivers ultra-low shrinkage during cure and attains a sandable hardness in about one hour at 25 °C (77 °F), while retaining controlled flexibility in its fully cured state to resist crack formation and substrate fatigue. The cured compound exhibits robust adherence to prepared aluminum, titanium, composite, and primed surfaces, and retains integrity after limited exposure to jet fuel, aviation gasoline, and diphosphate ester hydraulic fluids. Its balanced modulus, high elongation, and proven lap shear strength make it ideal for aerodynamic fairing joints, panel smoothing, leading-edge fillet repairs, and general exterior airframe detailing where durability, chemical resistance, and precision finishing are essential.
