PPG Aerospace® PR-1005-L is a high-performance, red Buna-N (nitrile-butadiene) elastomeric slosh coating engineered for the interior protection of integral aircraft fuel tanks. Compliant with AMS-S-4383B specifications, this one-part synthetic rubber solution cures at room temperature to form a tough, flexible, and transparent film. It offers exceptional resistance to prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gasoline, with a service temperature range from -100°F (-73°C) to 250°F (121°C), and intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). The cured coating exhibits excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates and polysulfide sealants, ensuring long-term structural integrity. Ideal for both production and maintenance applications, PR-1005-L is widely utilized in civil and military aerospace programs to enhance fuel tank durability and performance.
