PPG® PS 870 C12 Gray MIL-PRF-81733D Type IV-12, Class 1 sealant is a two-component manganese dioxide–cured polysulfide designed for high-reliability structural sealing in aircraft assembly and maintenance. Packaged in a 6 oz 654-SemKit, it delivers controlled work life for precise application on joints, fasteners, access panels, and faying surfaces. Its corrosion-inhibitive formulation protects aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and composite substrates by preventing galvanic activity and moisture ingress while maintaining flexibility under vibration and thermal cycling. The cured material resists prolonged exposure to fuels, hydraulic fluids, lubricants, water, and de-icing agents, making it ideal for pressurized cabins, fuel tanks, wing structures, and external aerodynamic surfaces in both OEM and MRO environments.
