The PPG P/S 870 B‑2 Gray Corrosion Inhibitive Sealant is a two-component, manganese-dioxide cured polysulfide system engineered to meet BMS 5-95 Type I, Class B-2 aerospace specifications. Designed for use on aluminium alloys, titanium and dissimilar metal assemblies, it delivers durable adhesion, long-term flexibility and robust corrosion protection in demanding aircraft environments. With a service temperature range from −65 °F (−54 °C) to 250 °F (121 °C) and intermittent excursions up to 275 °F (135 °C), this sealant maintains elastomeric integrity after exposure to jet fuels, aviation gas, oils and hydraulic fluids. The low-sag thixotropic paste allows controlled application at OEM or MRO stages on fuselage pressurised panels, structural joints, fastener lines and access doors, forming a resilient barrier that inhibits galvanic attack, resists fluid intrusion and retains sealing performance despite vibration, thermal cycling and environmental extremes, making it a highly reliable solution for high-performance aerospace sealing applications.
