The PPG Aerospace® PR-1826 A-2 Gray (PRC Standard Spec Rapid Cure Fuel Tank Sealant) is a two-part, rapid-cure polythioether/epoxy blend engineered for demanding aerospace integral fuel tank and fuselage joint applications. With a broad service temperature window down to 80 °F (–62 °C) and up to +300 °F (149 °C)and capable of intermittent excursions to +420 °F (216 °C)it provides extraordinary durability and flexibility after prolonged exposure to aviation fuels, oils, hydrocarbons and hydraulic fluids. The low-sag, thixotropic paste enables clean application even in vertical or overhead positions, and when properly primed it bonds effectively to aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and coated substrates . The A-2 class offers extended working time for precise tooling while still delivering fast turnaround cure performance for OEM production and MRO environments, making it ideal for sealing fasteners, fillets and seams in raw aluminum tanks, composite fuselage structures and metallic assemblies demanding long-term structural integrity and fuel containment.
