The PPG Aerospace PR‑1782 A‑2 Low Density Fuel Tank Sealant is a two-part, manganese-dioxide cured polysulfide sealant engineered to meet AIMS 04-05-001/12/14/15 aircraft fuel-tank specifications. It offers up to 30% weight savings compared to conventional formulations, making it ideal for weight-sensitive OEM assembly and MRO applications. With a service temperature range of -65 °F to 250 °F (-54 °C to 121 °C) , the product delivers outstanding adhesion to standard aerospace substrates, resilient elastomeric performance after prolonged exposure to jet fuel, aviation gas and limited contact with phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids , and excellent durability and flexibility against environmental stresses. Designed for brush-application of fastener holes and sealant gaps in fuel tanks and fuselage systems, it cures at ambient temperature to form a robust, low-weight barrier—ensuring structural integrity, reduced mass and reliable performance in critical aerospace operations.
