The PPG® PR1782 A-1/2 Gray AIMS 04-05-001/12/14/15 Spec Low Density Fuel Tank Sealant – Pint Kit is a two-part, manganese-dioxide-cured polysulfide sealant engineered for demanding aerospace applications, offering up to ~30 % weight savings versus conventional sealants. With a service temperature range of –54 °C to 121 °C (–65 °F to 250 °F), it provides outstanding adhesion and flexible elastomeric performance after extended exposure to jet fuel, aviation gasoline, oils and diphosphate-ester hydraulic fluids. Optimised for fast-turn OEM assembly and MRO fuel-tank repairs, the A-1/2 class delivers a short work-life, rapid cure and reliable compatibility with aluminium clad 2024, titanium AMS-4911, stainless AMS-5513 and common aircraft primers and top-coats, enabling durable sealing in integral tanks, fastener bays and weight-sensitive structural regions.
