HUNTSMAN ADVANCED MATERIALS® KIT ADHESIVE EPOXY A/B QT EPIBOND 420AB NON-SPEC EPBND420QT

The Huntsman Advanced Materials® Epibond® 420 A/B (Kit, QT, EPBND420QT) is a two-component, modified epoxy paste engineered for demanding structural bonding in aerospace and advanced industrial assemblies. Featuring integrated 5 mil spacer beads, this adhesive ensures a consistently uniform bondline critical in high-stress zones, and it delivers exceptional shear and peel strength across a broad temperature spectrum and exposure conditions. It cures reliably at room temperature or with supplementary heat (e.g. 90 min at 175 °F or 1 h at 250 °F) to yield a resilient, toughened joint with tensile lap shear performance of ~4,500 psi on aluminum at 25 °C, retaining adequate strength even at elevated temperatures. Compatible with metals, honeycomb core structures, fiber-reinforced composites, and selected engineered plastics, Epibond® 420 exhibits strong adhesion, fatigue resistance, chemical and moisture durability, and predictable workability for repairs, assembly, and retrofit applications in airframe structures, composite skins, sandwich panels, stiffener bonding, and aerospace repair environments. It also meets or replaces REDUX 410 NA and satisfies BMS 5-107 Class 1 requirements.
