Henkel Loctite® 549 Instant Gasket Sealant (250 mL tube, part 1661866) is a single-component, orange methacrylate-based anaerobic gasketing fluid engineered to cure when confined between closely fitting metal faces, providing a flexible, in situ polymer gasket. With a thixotropic viscosity (~20 000 mPa·s) and medium cure speed, it delivers an immediate low-pressure seal while fully curing within ≈72 hours. It exhibits excellent resistance to oils, fuels, coolants and transmission fluids and operates over –55 °C to +150 °C service range. Its medium strength (≈3.6 N/mm² lap shear) renders it ideal for rigid flange and housing assemblies in aerospace structures, fuel systems, hydraulic components and avionics housings, enabling replacement of solid gaskets, simplifying inventory, enhancing sealing integrity under vibration and thermal cycling, and reducing maintenance downtime.
